At The Corner

Here is what I think was the cutest little tree at the corner! The pictures were taken last month at
Colonial Williamsburg, around the time when the big trees are putting out their colorful show.
This little tree, or bush, was also making a big statement at the corner, behind a white picket fence.
I have no idea what the name of it is! It caught my attention because from far way it looked like a forsythia bush to me. I had to get close and find out if it was possible that a forsythia was blooming in the fall.

I know I've said no more posts about leaves, but these are not leaves. These are little ribbons!
Does anybody knows what type of tree or bush is this?

Thank you for your visit!!

Some Of It

This is my window view, so pretty! That myrtle tree is on fire!

By now you probably have heard of what happened to 43 students from a place called
Ayotzinapa in Mexico.  It's a very sad story! But things like these have been happening
in Mexico for awhile now. And Mexican citizens are tired of it. So in their frustration that the
government appears to not care about them, they have gone violent. If the government
is doing it's part, is hard to say! The government has to deal with the mafia which is
interweave with the government itself!  Please pray for Mexico.

Here is a video of students from around the world that want to use the social
media to show support to Ayotzinapa.

My son asked me for toothpicks.  I told him where they were and
I guess he found them, because when I went to his room this is what I saw!

Here is  a short video of  the Veteran's Day parade at Colonial Williamsburg.
(Please excuse the blurriness, I'm new at the making videos job.)

This is it! Today it will get down to 31 degrees! As much as I don't want to, I think is time to say good bye to my wishes of playing with the waves and feeling the warm sand between my toes! 'till next year!

Besides the Parade

Here is a little more about our visit to Colonial Williamsburg on Veterans day.
Today's post is a lot more color toned down compared to my last post that was full of red,
white and blue colors from the Veteran's Day celebration.

Thank your for your visit!

Remembering

Yesterday was the day to remember, to celebrate and thank the veterans.
I'm a veteran. I've served in the U. S. Navy, but won't talk much about it these days,
since I've ran out of sea stories! And I don't want my friends and family to
roll their eyes, if  I began the "When I was in the Navy..." sentence one more time.

But there are times when I sing it out loud, so I can get a military discount, including yesterday.
I proudly got out my military ID so I could get a free ticket to Colonial Williamsburg.
Every year they have a Veteran's Day parade. Anybody can join the parade, but I like to
"use my rank" to find the perfect place and take pictures. Then I join them at ceremony time when
they call to all the veterans from the crowd that have served at any time, to step forward and join the others.

Very grateful for all that have served, the ones that are serving right
now, and to others that take the time to remember us veterans!
