Eaters

Is that time when these walking eaters come to our gardens and do nothing but eat eat and eat!
I caught them red handed, let me introduce them to you:

First I caught the never ending eater Monarch caterpillar.

Second eater I caught was the Black Swallowtail caterpillar.

Then I got the Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillar,
I had to unfold the Spice Bush tree's leaf to take a picture of it.
Isn't it such a cutie?

And last this humongous eater. Its a Cecropia Moth caterpillar.
They are so big, bigger than my pinkie finger!

Took all these pictures at the Butterfly House of the Norfolk Botanical Garden.

Sharing with you and ABC Wednesday

  1. Interesting to see that there as many caterpillar races as there are butterfly varieties. I must say , they are quite beautiful.
    Have a happy week.

  4. E is for Ecstatic! I was wondering how you could be so fortunate to just "find" such a variety of caterpillars! I was walking down Jealousy Lane! :-)

  5. When I was a kid, a boy put one down the back of my t-shirt and then squished it! I was horrified! I can look at them now but they still make me a bit squeamish. Your photos are fabulous!
