Energized Oreo

Here is my little dog Oreo playing with her everlasting toy, a rope hanging from a tree that
was originally used for a tire swing.  We are so happy that she found this rope, it keeps her busy
and gives us a break. She is very active! It's been some weeks ago that she found it, another
good thing, because her toys only last her for days, and sometimes only hours.

Now she spends a lot of time playing with this rope, only stopping to smell around and make
sure everything is in order, then she goes back to it, as if she had just found it all over again.

With all those leaves and the beautiful sunset, I tried to take some good fall pictures of her. You know,
I wanted some of those cute fall pictures with leaves all over and her posing  for me, looking at my camera,
but that ended up being a total failure. She  kept moving all over the place sniffing the air for intruders.

Anyway, at least I can show off where she got her name from.  She is all black with a little white on her chest, just like an Oreo cookie. We didn't name her, that was the name they had already given to her when we got her, and we decided to leave like that since she can also be as sweet as a cookie.

Oreo and her Rubber Ducky

My daughter brought this rubber ducky from school.
And since Oreo got a hold of it, it has been her favorite toy.

Sometimes she goes rough at it, and we feel sorry for that poor rubber ducky.

But other times she  just looks at it with a "I love you" face.

And there are also some times that she just looks silly!

We finally found a place to "walk Oreo"!

I know there are to many places in Omaha to do that, no need for a special place.
But "walking Oreo" is the excuse we use to go out there, us 3 as a family, and have fun.
We have many ways to have fun as family, but walking in the woods is one of our favorites.

Back in Virginia we went to a place called Sandy Bottom Nature Park, it's very close to our house.
Here we've tried some places in the city, but they didn't do the trick.
So we have to drive 30 minutes away to The Platte River State Park so we can "walk Oreo."

This time, the end of November, it was 40 degrees in Omaha. We were having a heat wave!
We had to take Oreo out!

We were trying to get to the Platte River and to the train tracks, but ended up at this waterfall.
For once I was happy to be lost in Nebraska.
I keep getting lost here, one more thing I will remember about this place

We have had great memories at this park, I should use the waterfall  picture for the blog header.

4 Legged Pencil Sharpener

I caught  Oreo red pawed, chewing a pencil.
"Ugh!   That dog!
And  look at all that mess! Now I have to vacuum again!"

This is the way I react most of the time, except that time.

That time I took a picture of that little chewing machine.
Some how I knew it was going to make me laugh later on.

She is like "I couldn't find the sharpener, so I had to improvise!"

It's interesting what we find when we get to clean the dog house.

Finally I know why I found my sock cut in 14 pieces, my extension cord cut in 21 pieces, and my...
I got a smart dog! :)

Flowers and Fury

When taking pictures of flowers I caught a picture of my dog, Oreo, getting upset with some passing byers. She is very protective. And doesn't care what size the person or dog is!

Sometimes I call her Night Fury, I think she looks a lot like Toothless, the dark dragon from the movie How to train your Dragon.
