Some Of It

Joslyn Art Museum - Jun Kaneko
When it comes to art I try to appreciate and understand what an artist is expressing on a piece,
but when I see this sculpture I can't stop wondering if this artist does hypnotism as a side job.

This is my son's first year in High School! Among the cool things he likes to do he also loves music,
and plays for the school's band. He is very excited to start playing with other musicians of his
new school. But not without telling me how much he misses his friends in the above picture
from the Junior High he used to go last year at Nebraska.

Royal Walnut Moth, Citheronia regalis, AKA Hickory Horned Devil

You really have to love bugs to say the above caterpillar is cute, pretty, or anything like that.
Okay, I think it's cute and unique :) but the kid that was besides me kept saying it
looks like an ugly dragon, I just don't understand! :)

On Labor Day,  a day to rest and sleep in, we had to get up early for my daughter's first soccer
practice of the season. It's not normal for soccer shoes to be clean, her new soccer shoes were so
squeaky clean, that the cat felt the need to start grooming himself to keep up with the cleanness!

I'm done having a crush on Thor, I'm into this guy now.

  5. Oh I loved your WNF5. That art piece does give you pause to wonder what was the artist thinking and it made me a little dizzy looking at it.
I think it's great your son loves music. My granddaughter takes Piano lessons, she starts again next week.
That is one strange looking caterpillar but I like it.
    Also loved your grooming kitty.
Haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet but that Raccoon character cracks me up.

  6. That artist was certainly trying to say something - not a pleasant feeling.

  7. That caterpillar reminds of someone, but I cannot think who. I am serious! The Moth it makes is pretty, if I remember correctly.

  9. great photos! That caterpillar is quite amazing, never seen anything like it. I think I'd like some greenery growing around the sculpture, to make it look less stark.

  11. I liked the sculpture and smiled at your comment about it. As for that Hickory Horned Devil, it is amazing! But the picture that hit me right where it counts is the one of your son with the junior band. i was a Junior and Senior High School band director for many years, retiring a couple of years ago. Those kids look very disciplined and the percussion equipment suggests that the music program is well supported. What instrument does your son play?
