Yesterday was the day to remember, to celebrate and thank the veterans.
I'm a veteran. I've served in the U. S. Navy, but won't talk much about it these days,
since I've ran out of sea stories! And I don't want my friends and family to
roll their eyes, if  I began the "When I was in the Navy..." sentence one more time.

But there are times when I sing it out loud, so I can get a military discount, including yesterday.
I proudly got out my military ID so I could get a free ticket to Colonial Williamsburg.
Every year they have a Veteran's Day parade. Anybody can join the parade, but I like to
"use my rank" to find the perfect place and take pictures. Then I join them at ceremony time when
they call to all the veterans from the crowd that have served at any time, to step forward and join the others.

Very grateful for all that have served, the ones that are serving right
now, and to others that take the time to remember us veterans!

Sharing with you and ABC Wednesday.

  7. Yes, I've noticed, especially in the last few years, the discounts for vets and active service personnel, especially around November 11 and late May.

  8. I did the same theme too, I have connected with the Canadian Military via one of my books.
